- One-third of all individuals with HIV identify as heterosexual.
- HIV is preventable by taking a once-daily pill or shot every two months.
- Everyone has an HIV status: positive or negative.
- HIV cannot be transmitted when it is tested for and treated. Knowing your status is crucial; if you don't know your status, you are putting others at risk.
- There is no such thing as casual exposure to HIV.
